This is my first blog post. Not my first blog post ever, but my first blog post on this blog. This is a very emotional experience for me. I need to stop now.

Using Glogster

Last week in Production class, we learned how to use Glogster. This powerful web application allows users to create interactive posters with ease. This can be a valuable resource for both students and educators. Educators can use it to create interactive lessons that students can access from home or during class, while students can create presentations with interactive web elements without using typical materials.

Honestly, the website itself ( http://www.glogster.com ) immediately sends out a message that the site is geared toward bored teenagers. The 'Best & Fresh Blogs' section is full of self-portraits of teenage girls with corny sayings overlaid. The 'Today's best gloggers' section is also full of adolescents... A definite turn-off to users looking for a serious tool. I think it's unfortunate that the main page looks like this, since this is a tool that can be utilized by absolutely anyone.

Our first Glogster assignment was to create one with the title "Who am I?" and my product is below:

I decided to take a simple, black and white approach to this assignment in order to make it easy to read and understand. I plan on taking a more creative and outlandish approach to my next one.

I look forward to finding more valuable tools in this class.
